Posted - 17/07/2012 : 20:05:28 I know the general rule if it's 1 and half times thicker than the widest part of the snake it will be fine just wondering what you would do. Feed 2 fuzzies or up to smalls?
Please look at the following pics and tell me what you think he is 9 months and weighs 62g, and just been fed a fuzzie.

Posted - 18/07/2012 : 12:41:22 All snakes are different, but for information my Zeus was on 2 fuzzies at 40g in weight (fuzzies approx 6g each) and moved onto smalls at 47g (smalls approx 10g) Your Albi looks similar in size to Zeus (now weighing in at 56g) so I would say try 2 at the same feed and then move on to smalls, but equally you could do as Georgina suggested |

Posted - 18/07/2012 : 08:21:29 I would finish the fluffs up, one at a time and if there is no bump move to smalls. When I gave midnight a double fluff feed she regurged but took smalls fine. Lightnibg however is a slim snake so he went from single fluffs, with the odd extra pinky is hero didn't eat, to hoppers, again with the odd pinky and now happily eats smalls. But I fine beacause he was double fed he looks for more and it made him a snappy feeder. But that's my opinion . X |

Posted - 17/07/2012 : 23:23:09 Sorry should have been clearer, I personally would keep it at 1. I only fed Sid 1 fuzzie per feed before moving up to smalls but I know some people feed 2 smaller before moving up. |

Posted - 17/07/2012 : 23:17:31 I would feed him the 8 fuzzies and see how big a bump there is on the last one and make the decision then if you are going to move him up a size or not. |

Posted - 17/07/2012 : 23:14:20 The fuzzie weighed 5/6 grams... He ways 61. Still got about 8 fuzzies left. |

Posted - 17/07/2012 : 23:12:18 There is still a reasonable bump with the 1 fuzzie, do you know how much the fuzzies weigh? The ones I was buying varied a lot and were between 4 - 8g. I have just given Sid his first small at the weekend and he was 53g and I went straight from 1 fuzzie to a small (he managed it no problems). |

Posted - 17/07/2012 : 22:59:00 I would tend to agree you can still see a bump so i would keep up with the 2 fuzzies for a couple more weeks yet |

Posted - 17/07/2012 : 20:21:43 Looks okay to me, there is still a noticeable bulge. Better wait til someone more experienced comes along though... |

Posted - 17/07/2012 : 20:12:18 Kinda looks ok as is.. does he struggle with them or is more like he sucks them down?
My kitty is about that size and will occasionally take 2x fuzzies (usually he just eats one and leaves the other).
Over here a fuzzy is about 5-6 grams, and hoppers are about 10g.
