Just looking through a list of Colubrids and came across it. Haven't heard of it before but it looks just like a normal corn, just a chocolatey brown colour. |

Posted - 09/05/2012 : 19:01:03 is its owns sub species, used to be known as a corn (kisatchie) but was upgraded to its own species. Some call it a slowinski rat snake. Unfortunately not very common but cracking snakes to look at. oh we got one though lol |

Posted - 09/05/2012 : 18:43:12 yeah I have googled it, it has a different scientific name, it's elaphe slowinskii as opposed to elaphe guttata, that's what made me think it could be another species.
For anyone who is interested I found this. "was thought to be an intergrade subspecies of the Red Cornsnake and Great Plains Ratsnake, but it has recently been elevated to species status"
