Posted - 11/04/2012 : 09:11:48 Well, 2 weeks after Connies operation to remove stuck eggs and spay her, she is doing really well. The vet is extremely pleased with the way she is healing and all we really need to do now is gradually build her back up as she has lost quite a bit of weight. I am so happy with her progress and the fact that despite everything she is still the same happy girl. Sorry for the pic overload

Only people on here will understand how happy I was to see this. First poop since the op.
Third meal since the op. Only a little fuzzy but now she has pooped we can start moving her gradually up sizes.

Posted - 14/04/2012 : 13:13:41 I don't know where you are Steve so I don't know if it will be any use to you. I took her to Ambivets at Ripley, Derbyshire.
When I got my first snake I spent a long time on the internet searching vets, visiting websites and phoning to find ones that will deal with reptiles. You have to be careful as some will say they treat reptiles but don't really have very much experience. Another thing you could do is join a local facebook reptile group and ask on there if they have any recommendations. |

Posted - 11/04/2012 : 20:29:36 Mamma - I was having to be a contortionist to get that 2nd picture. Connie has a knack of wrapping herself around everything and I wanted to get a photo of her belly where the stitches are but she wasn't being very compliant lol.
She made one of the nurses at the vets squeal when she was in for her op. The nurses are used to handing snakes but when Connie wrapped her tail tight around the nurse's wrist it startled her and made her squeal lol.
Smartbunny - I wanted everyone to share how excited I was at the sight of poop. Pictures are so much better than words lol
This journey we have been on has been made so much easier with the knowledge of the support and well wishes from the members of this forum. Thanks guys, you really help it to be the best forum around. |
