might be worth just taking it out then incase he does constrict on it and blocking up the gap. LED's definately the way to go, love mine

pleased you found her up in the tree, lol,

just a little tip, you need a guard for your bulb, snakes can and do sit on them and can burn, even those reduced energy ones give enough heat to burn. The other injury could be horrific, snakes have been known to constrict the bulbs obviously causing themselves some nasty cuts, would hate to hear a story on here of your snake being hurt xx
