Posted - 28/03/2012 : 10:28:35 my lab used to do that when she could get out and about... now its just full house bricks. amazing though that when passing a parked car shed tilt it almost vertically and not touch them. my staff x lurcher sasha tries it now. shes not happy till shes uprooted a sapling... why are dogs mental?? |

Agree about the sticks though - a friends dog died when a stick went through the roof of her mouth :( |

Word of warning though. Sticks are incredibly dangerous for dogs. They can cause serious damage to the mouth, throat and oesophagus. I have a rubber fake stick that I use for my dogs. I have also seen some more plasticy ones that have bulbous ends so that they cannot stick into the ground when they are thrown.
Thiiiiis! This happened to my dog when he was little, rammed right down his throat and pierced it! Thankfully, some surgery and love later, he was okay (if a bit dribbly and ho****) but we've never thrown a stick for him since! |
