Ah, and Lupi - I will be likely be doing some fire poi in the evening (depending on how drunk i get), so it should be good providing I don't burn the last few strands of hair off the top of my head

Yes Lupi lou, we will be having a full ceremony with a druid, 5 "best" people to represent elements (earth, wind, water, fire and spirit) - gonna be outside in a circle, tying hands together, hopping over brooms n all that jazz. Pretty cool actually, the venue also offers a firepit in the evening as standard. It is the OH that is pagan - i'm pretty much agnostic, but can actually see the sense in his religion. We should be riding the horses most of the way there; well, at least 10 minutes of trotting . I'm starting to get pretty excited about Sunday now - thinking that I must find and watch the horses episode of the Living with Animals documentary.

That sounds really interesting! I've never heard of anybody doing something like that before. I'd be interested in seeing a pic or two! Will yous be wearing suits or something more...pagan...ey?

Ah, well thats where the (again, OH idea) regency theme comes into play. Gonna be wearing Tailcoats, high collared shirts/neck cloths, breeches (lol) and boots. Please do trust me though, when i say that everything has been planned to work well together etc. I will be more than happy to get some photo's on here.

So Katie - how long before i get to a galloping stage dya reckon?

getting to a galloping stage is easy! Staying ON while doing so is a talent to acquire!

Ouch!! That doesn't sound overly fun! Last hunt of the season tomorrow. I think i'll have to liberate myself from college to attend.

turning up on a camel would have been epic! lol, its sounds like it will be an amazing day, my friends pagan and she had the full works even had people who juggled and breathed fire as part of the evening do. she also throws an awsome halloween party each year to celebrate both the new year and their aniversary. good luck for sunday!

That's so cool, I'd love to go hunting just for the pure adrenaline of galloping through fields and jumping everything that gets in the way! It's bloody difficult recording and cantering/galloping at the same time haha, I speak from experience I was on holiday in Egypt in 2010 and recording me and my OH galloping along a beach, pulling on the reins with one hand is tough work!!
I've not ridden for a few months now, I miss it A friend of mine has two horses and asked me the other day if I'd like to start riding them again, she's just had a baby and needs an op on her lady parts so won't be able to ride for a while, good for me, not so good for her

You have to be plaitted up going out hunting but my sister just ties Ginger's tail up because he kicks at it when it gets mucky and sometimes other people get in the way of his angry feet :P lol

Best of luck with that Garrie, im sure you'll have a whale of a time! What is the horse related wedding plan???

OH and I have quite a regency themed, pagan handfasting (his idea, not mine)...but trotting "down the isle" each on a horse is the plan. The ceremony is going to be outside, and will be a nice surprise for guests..i'm thinking of side saddling, what dya reckon?

Wouldn't go side saddle, its a lot harder to get the hang of! -especially if you plan on trotting lol. Plus its for girls!

you'll probably be on a lunge line! the instructor might have something to say about you "clippetycloping" your way around! although i do know some one who chants trip trot in her lessons! hope you have a good lesson!
garrie Posted - 20/02/2012 : 14:49:46
That looks awesome! I am actually having my first horsey riding lesson on Sunday - in preparation for "the wedding" dum dum dummmmm. Will just be saying hello to the horse and walking around attached to a pole (can't remember what the proper name of that is). Any tips for me? I'm hoping my Hymen doesn't break .

Is it acceptable to go "clippety clop, clipperty clop" as i'm going around on it?
