Thought this maybe somewhat helpful to compile?

I cannot stand reading/hearing about anything to do with anyone attatching human emotions to a snake. I'm pretty sure they don't feel "happy!" or "enjoying" Anything, think it's more they feel "secure"...

What about you?

checking the shed for eyecaps and tip of the tail is the first thing i do after my snakes have shed and if i spot anything that looks a bit untoward eg broken shed or missing tail tip i get a warm damp towel and wipe them down just to be sure

I had one VERY stubborn one before. I soaked it in warm water and then rubbed olive oil onto it and then just gave it a little pick with my nail! (gently)Slid right off then.

I agree.

Firstly the very spelling of that annoys the living heck out of me. Its a forum, people should have the courtesy to write in proper sentences.

Secondly, the whole subject of retained tail shed not being a major issue annoys me too. It is an issue. It would **** me off if something on me fell off because I was not being looked after properly etc. Granted there are cases that there was genuinely no awareness of retained shed and it had been happening before they had gotten the snake (9 times out of 10, this is usually the case). But it takes 2 minutes to check the tail tip on a shed (unless the snake has had a bad shed).

lots of things bug me, even the smallest thing can send me on a rant, but i'll try and narrow it down!! pets shops selling animals the week before christmas, its not just dogs that are for life!!! people that dont look after their animals properly! and people who lable an animal as horrible/argessive etc just because they don't like that species! so mostly people! lol oh and when the oh dosen't listen to me!!

To be fair, I didn't do ANY research before getting Rufus! That being he was a surprise for my birthday. But I am clever enough to do as much research whenever I have a spare moment! I even research (and get quite paranoid) about the bad stuff that could happen!

I don't like it when you are told you MUST do something because that's that persons opinion so must be true... I'm all open to hearing advice from anybody and everybody, but feeling like I'm a bad person for not doing something that the one person said isn't very nice.

People that try and flog a snake that's not worth anything for a heck of a lot of money and then try and justify it by saying that "it comes with a viv and stuff that cost £150", which is fine but they expect to get that much money back on stuff which is effectively second hand.

Augh i'm sick of hearing that one. Like a snake needs to measure themselves up to see if they can eat.
I've started to tell people that yes it is true, and that in the wild snakes will often sneak down rabbits burrows at night to measure themselves up against the rabbits. Thats how they know which rabbit they can attach and eat the next day.

mmm, pasta bake duck...

Just people who rush into buying a pet/snake because they "have" to have it right this second. There is no need to rush!! Oh, and there is no need to get a snake just because I have a snake either! Other than that...just people who say pacific instead of specific, oh...and Phillip Schofield

Pasta bake duck is actually very nice, how many people remember the ducklings in the fridge/freezer that I posted???
Originally gonna be boa foods, but 'her indoors' forced me to allow them to live.

oooh, I have one that will probably REALLY irritate/annoy/upset many people on here.

I was having the discussion with one of the girls from work yesterday about what tastes nicer, Fox or Snake.
Now snake is yummy, I've never tried fox. We have now decided to cook the same meal at some point in the future with snake meat and fox meat to see once and for all what is nicer.

There you go, something to not like this reptile keeper for.

Just to add, I see all my animals as pets, I'd never treat them any less than I would like to be treated myself. I am quite anthropomorphistic with many things including my snakes. I greet them in the morning and ask how they slept, I will regularly talk to them, oddly enough I'm the same with my cars/bikes. The cars and bikes all have names, they get referred to them by name and i talk to them. My family know what car I'm on about when I mention the names. Josephine, Rose, Angela and Jessica.
However I am also aware that animals are meat, meat is food, food is tasty... And I don't like seeing food go to waste.

Really need a LIKE button.

I was just thinking the same thing :P
