same with my kids! Well the youngest 2. They are more interested in the wax/meal worms and the dead mice! hahaha. I was feeding Mim yesterday and Hamish (my youngest...2 at the end of this month) asked what the mouse was for. I said Mim is gonna eat it. So I showed him. And there was another mouse for Romeo still in the measuring jug with the defrosting water... Hamish turned around and said "I eat the mouse mum?" pointing to it. I was like nooooooo! lol

A couple of crickets or mealies! Pah! This is how to do it big time.

I used to use my old bedroom at my folks house as a general workshop & storage depot. I used to tie my own fishing flies and once pegged out a fancy pheasant skin and other fine furry bits of road kill to cure. After a frantic call from my Mother accusing me of devil worship and the Black Arts I rushed round to a scene which was indeed like something out of The Omen/ Exorcist/ Amityville Horror. There was my dear old Mum with a jumbo Fly Spray in one hand and a Hoover hose in in the other stuck through the cracked open door. There was an angry buzzing drone coming from behind the door. I took a keek into the bedroom and nae wonder she was cursing. There were literally thousands of big dirty bluebottles doing their dinger around the room and that was still after my Mum had been sooking and skooshing the little buggahs for over an hour.

Obviously I hadn't done a very good job of cleaning the pelts and they had gotten flyblown, the warm summer sun did the rest. Boy was I flavour of the month.
