We should have an off topic section....

But anyway... just wanted to let you know that after weeks of refusing to go out and play for fear of being stung by a wasp and my reasurring her she would be fine (and admittedly resorting to actually throwing her out in the garden to get over her fear ).... My eldest daughter was stung today....

On the bum *insert laughing smiley here*

Apparently a wasp crawled up her skirt in the dinner hall at school and she sat down to have her lunch and BAM. Sore bum.

...waits for the bum jokes....

she is fine now. She has a slight pink ***** style rash around where she was stung. Dunno if its an allergy to the sting or the spray hubby bought from the chemist that day.

One of my neighbours is brave enough to "clap" wasps if they are buzzing about him - and has never been stung!

gingerpony Posted - 09/09/2011 : 14:44:58
i can TOTALLY sympathize with her! i accidently sat on a dead wasp about 10 years ago and it still stung my bum! damn sore it was too!!
MiffyKnits Posted - 09/09/2011 : 14:10:45
Hope she is not too sore, poor thing.

My DD was pretty much phobic about them at one point we had lots of refusing to go out to play and when we did go anywhere lots of hysterical reactions to flys, bits of hair blowing onto her face etc. In the end I took her to the drs and got her refered for some CBT type he. While she still doesn't like them we can go out now without her being in a state of panic all day.

Okeetee Mick Posted - 09/09/2011 : 08:43:32
Hope she's had a couple of days off school, I would have milked it for all it's worth!!
Mamma Posted - 09/09/2011 : 08:03:16
@ auld bauldy... my hubby is the same. Got stung behind the ear when he was younger now he has a lump there. And no... I didnt kiss it better

@kd... my hubby will actually stop the car wherever he is and jump out if he thinks theres a wasp in the car. Including motorways.

@jj... no you arent the only weird one.. I dont mind them too
shaunb Posted - 09/09/2011 : 01:24:32
i can't get stung by one as im allergic to them, i hate the things.
crazy JJ Posted - 09/09/2011 : 01:14:05
lol sorry, i laughed ha! but still thats a bit mean, hmm does that mean im the only strange person that doesnt actually mind bea's or wasps??
kdlang Posted - 08/09/2011 : 23:50:35
Awww your poor daughter. I can understand her fears. My son would run into a road to avoid a bee or a wasp and I have to be very vigilante while we are out and about. I hope she feels better soon
Auld Baldy Posted - 07/09/2011 : 20:32:04
Poor wee thing, I would be decidedly unchuffed as well if someone plunked their bum on me.

Joking aside, I got a wasp sting in the arm a few years ago and it was b••••y painful. I take a bad histamine reaction to insect bites and stings and it actually left a small white scar.

Hope you kissed it better, Mamma. lol!
nusnakemum Posted - 07/09/2011 : 20:17:51

scottishbluebird Posted - 07/09/2011 : 18:48:44
