a valid reason for revival would be for example, an update on the issue the OP was about
i think Lewy is due to archive a lot of the older threads, regular archiving will hopefully stop the problem of resurrecting long-dead threads, but so should common sense! (though this appears to be a misnomer!) |

On the forum I am admin on. We close threads that have had no activity for 3 months. Stops people spamming/bumping them.
Which could work here unless its in the classifieds etc |

Maybe an actual rule on topic revival would be good? For example many other forums don't allow revival of one that has been inactive for one months unless, it is related and a good reason for revival such as a question which would prevent another topic from being created. |

i've had to delete so many of your random pointless posts!!
a health query from 2 months ago doesn't really warrant bringing back from the dead to say "i'd take it to a vet"!!
and pretty much everything else re. spamming is covered above ^^ |

When you drag up painfully old threads that have been left to rot.
When you make several new topics on the same thing.
When you post useless stuff over and over.
That is spamming. Remember to check the dates. |
