when it says 'The Komodo thermostat is designed to be used with the Komodo Dome Light Fixture or Komodo Heat Mats but will operate most heat sources, including lamps, heat mats, cables and ceramic heaters, etc., providing they do not exceed 300 watts and 3 amps'

Does that mean the amps on the plug or on the heater mat itself!!

its the maximum power or current it can handle. They are strange numbers though because 300w @ 240v is only 1.25 amps :S

dunno but most mats will have a 3A fuse in the plug
i'd hazard a guess at it running any mat or several mats providing they're less that 300W load in total
