Hi
Is the advert's advice wrong? I think I am right from my reading on here. Heat mats are better than ceramics for corn snakes but that also UV light is not necessary for corn snakes. Although the advice could be for the beardie.

Is it worth someone who is a paid member maybe messaging the RSPCA lady about the more appropriate set up if the ad is wrong? I can't as it's a new ad. Then the RSPCA has the most up to date knowledge for the new owner. Justa thought when I saw it |

Plenty of people keep their corns under ceramics with no problems whatsoever- I don't think that they are worse than heatmats, just that heatmats are perfect for the job. |

the RSPCA are a charity, they can't enforce any regulations, codes, guidelines etc etc, only recommend.... ;) |

Not your fault, she should have wordered it clearer as I had to re-read several times!
I wonder if they are going by RSPCA reptile rescue regulations or the more furry side to the RSPCA :/ |

But if thats the case then the RSPCA regulations are still not right. If what she says is true (I will have a look in a bit) then any of us here with a setup that consisits of statted heatmat only, would not be able to adopt the corns.

Sorry your right she says they are a vet that deals with RSPCA cases and she wants to see them homed to RSPCA regulations. Sorry I read in a hurry. Did think it was odd :) My mistake. |

I don't think that ad is anything to do with the RSPCA, or at least how I am reading it! The RSPCA I would have imagined would use their own site to put the animals up :) Although she probably does need to make the ad more clear! |
