went to pets at home and the bloke tried selling me a 10.0 UVB strip, surely hes wrong? he told me corns need it to absorb vitamins :S, needless to say i didnt buy it

even my Day geckos only need 5%UV and they're a species active during the day (as the name suggests lol) 10%UV should only really be used for desert species that are active in daylight hours |

Which actually also depends on the type of glass and the age of it as well.
E or K glass which is commonly fitted on one side of double glazing will cut down most UV rays by about 80% from recollection.
Even most 'float' will do the same, unless the glass itself is old, then it can be totally different.
Otherwise everyone so much as sitting near a window would risk getting sunburned, think of all the poor gingers who work inside....

Just used a lifeline and phoned a friend.
UVB is nearly entirely blocked by windows, UVA will penetrate unless used with K or E glass. |

Snakes are lazy, they let the rodents go about and use tons of energy gathering everything it needs and then they just eat the rodent stealing all the good bits out. If you have a window in the room your snake is getting plenty UV. |

10% is whats needed for beardies, if you do want to get a uv get 2% but they really dont need it |
