Posted - 06/03/2011 : 21:25:06 They are really easy to care for. There is not too much difference to a corn snake in enclosure set up even temp and humidity levels are similar.
She is still really young so she doesnt really like to be held but is getting alot better. As for the musking it is not too bad. It is a bit smelly but she is doing it less and less.
My only advice would be... keep your mouth closed because when she flicks her musk she does her best (intentionally or not) to aim for my face. |

Can i ask you a question? (well I'm going to) Your milk snake, how easy/hard are they to keep and just how bad is it when they musk? |

Posted - 06/03/2011 : 20:47:32 Thanks every1
I picked him up today. I had a quick check over to check for any issues such as retained shed but he looks perfect. I picked him up in his RUB got him home and straight onto his heatmat and left him in his hide.
I will now give him the time to settle in. gotta say though not handling for a while will be really tough but it is for the best.
Thanks again everyone for the advice and good wishes |

Posted - 05/03/2011 : 22:06:23 Yeh he is a normal. The current owner said that he's het for lemon pastel stripe so he is quite light in colour compared to other normals. |

Posted - 05/03/2011 : 22:01:46 Yeah i'm sure that would help. Are you getting a normal? |

Posted - 05/03/2011 : 21:44:58 I will be on the royalpython more from now on I think. Gotta say though I am so thrilled to be getting a royal.
I am buying him and his set up. Hopefully keeping him in the same RUB will stress him out less than a complete relocation.

Posted - 05/03/2011 : 21:03:59 I have to back up what Gmac says, his advice got my fussy bugger feeding so for the time being he can do no wrong. |

Posted - 05/03/2011 : 20:56:10 Cheers gmac. Already registered. I will defo wait for 3 feeds then. I don't want him stressed. |

Posted - 05/03/2011 : 20:40:10 Congrats
Royals settling in is not the same as corns settling in, would suggest you don't handle he royal until it has had at least 3 consecutive feeds.
and see you on www.theroyalpython.co.uk |
