Posted - 06/02/2011 : 18:18:23 Hi there,
I'm new to this forum and I wanted to ask a few questions. I don't have a corn snake, but my 10 yr old son wants one. I'm a little afraid of snakes and I will only consider getting him one if it looks somewhat "pretty", like colorfull or something. I saw some pictures of a scaleless corn and I thought, now thats a nice looking snake. My question is, are they the same as a regular corn. Is the care the same? Also, does anyone here have one? Thanks |

Posted - 06/02/2011 : 19:05:01 People prefer different snakes and think certain morphs are prettier than others. I have an amel stripe, which has long stripes from tail to tip instead of spots/patches, also amel morphs lack the black pigment so tend to be less dark looking because of this :) I would also greatly reccommend the link above - it's a fantastic site where you can see what colour the different types are as well as how the colours may change as they get older :)

Posted - 06/02/2011 : 18:48:46 Thanks everyone, I didn't know that. I don't know what colour I like yet, nothing brown or too dark. I really like the colour of the black, yellow and red milk snakes, but the corn doesn't come in that colour. I also like bright green which they also don't come in. The one with the spots on it looks neat. What colour do you all have? Thanks |

Posted - 06/02/2011 : 18:30:57 Well I was still writing that as Graeme wrote his price. I'm sure you can get them in their hundreds price wise, but yeah for something "pretty" and scaleless you will be talking thousands. |

Posted - 06/02/2011 : 18:30:07 I don't own one myself, but I can't imagine that the care for them would be any different. Although I will say one thing from what I have seen, you will pay an absolute fortune for a scaleless one rather than one with scales. And to my knowledge there isn't any scaleless morphs that don't come in scale morphs. So if your looking for something pretty and with it being your first, I would guide you towards ones with scales purely because the scaleless ones cost a hell of a lot more. For example you can get an Anery for around £35-40... But a scaleless Anery was for sale for £350. Just to give you an idea. |
