hello. one of my habistats has gone up slack alley. i have bought a replacement already which is fitted and working but this one (a 3oow temp stat i believe) has stopped regulating temperature. it still powers the heater but doesnt cut out...ever. i thought id bought it from my local shop, however turns out i hadnt and it must have come with a viv. its still inside its 5 year warranty but got no proof of purchase to prove it. is it worth DIYing or can someone help me utilise the warranty? i really need it working now as its 35 quid i wont have to spend on the Carpet Pythons set up |

yep,they sent me replacement cable gromits,just send them a soppy email say that you have lost the reciept and the shop wont take it back |

habistat have great customer service,ive had a few repaired with no receipts and back within a few days. |

thanks newbie, i could kiss ya! (but as the police have warned me, i need to stop doing that without permission)
id all but given up hope of replacing it under warranty but one phone call and they said "send it back with a £5 postal order to cover returning it and they'll get it fixed! how helpful are they! a fiver is a lot less than a new stat so cheers newbie, yove just bought me mice and rats foe a few weeks! :) |

Hi Benji
Not sure whether your habistat will be like my micro-climate stat but it sounds like the thermometer has stopped working, which could be a fault with the probe or with the mechanics within the stat body...may be a complex diy or a relatively easy fix, but I've had a no reciept scenario before and sometimes if you ring and explain and make it clear you want a replacement from them, not money, they're sometimes a bit more giving. Buying a little something at the same time usually helps to  ! Hope it works out ok  x |
