I have just spent the last 10 minutes or so googling anery corn snake pictures to try and answer a question. Basically Spot's tongue is black, I wanted to know is a black tongue an anery trait or do some have pink tongues. I was thinking about it last night and I still don't know, after trawling google one of the only
pictures of an anery snake with its tongue out was strangely familiar. It was my Spot.
So there you go I open one of lifes great mysteries to you guys/gals, why is Spot's tongue black? |

Ripley's a pretty purplish red tongue actually. Not pink, nor black, though it is close at the tips. |

I've wondered the same thing as I've noticed Lokis tongue is quite a deep orangey colour and Falcors is paler and pinker. |

Most of my anery babies had jet black tongues, bar one which had a dark purple tongue, just like it's mum who is an anery. Maybe the aneries which have black tongues maybe tend to have their saddles stay black when they go older and ones with pinky tongues saddles go more brown when older? Would be interesting to see :)
And cause I couldn't resist sticking a photo on of my gorgeous girl!

Ah thats a good picture you got there, Spots tongue is so fast my camera catches blurs. It amazes me how long their tongues are too. I'm guessing its pigmented if its black, and not pigmented if its pink. |

Felix has a black/purple-ish tongue
...she is an anery stripe though
My other troops all have pink/red tongues |

I did search but clearly your the link-king when it comes to hunting out past topics. So the answer is some do and some don't. Do any other morphs have different coloured tongues or is it just anery? |
