It looks as though a rat had escaped a holding tub during the previous feeding session and had most likely chewed through a cable/thermostat probe and caused the heat cable to go through the roof which in turn melted and eventually ignited the plastic. That’s my theory anyway.

there ye go

That was my thought :) I looked though the topic but I can't actually see the poster or his friend saying that the fire was started that way but I am kinda blind lol. I did see someone say that's how someone else fire started, and another one that started with a broken stat :(

That's so sad T.T I I know if that happened to me I couldn't keep the snakes afterwards or I'd have to move house... it's so sad though as they just look like they are dirty and sleeping.

i spent 10 years in fire service and things like this tend to stick in ya mind
MacSpud Posted - 03/12/2010 : 23:54:37
Thats really grim and so sad to see all the dead ones piled together
Recluso Posted - 03/12/2010 : 23:40:47
Oh geeze... I don't have a snake yet and even I'm a bit misty eyed. On the plus side, no one human was hurt and I'm assuming his house was all right. But still such a tragedy :( I notice that the thread was posted earlier this year so hopefully by now he's been able to rebuild his collection.
stotty01 Posted - 03/12/2010 : 23:38:10
