I was just changing Tiko's water and had to move his branch. He took great offence and tail rattled at me - the cheeky monkey!! Does anyone else's corn do this? He is currently buried in his Aspen in a mood (I imagine!).

When she strikes it's like getting headbumped by a cotton bud, she's so small and feeble. Doesn't stop her though.
dannyhayman Posted - 11/11/2010 : 08:37:25
andromeda sounds like the coolest snake ever.
inkiepixie Posted - 11/11/2010 : 08:17:25
Andromeda rattles all the time, strikes now and again especially when she's hungry and has even hissed at me. She's a real grumpy madam. She seems to be under the impression she's an anaconda-sized deadly rattlesname, but she only hatched in June and is tiny. I think it's hilarious.

mine rattles but then again ive only had him a week XD
mikeyd_26 Posted - 05/11/2010 : 22:56:38
yeah i have a hatchie that rattles alot but the just pick him up approach doesnt work! grumpy little s**t! :)
stotty01 Posted - 05/11/2010 : 22:50:15
mine does that if the surroundings are a tad louder than normal, just grab her and she deals with it and settles down :)

Tango has never tail rattled but Phoenix does it all the time.

Tbh I don't think I bought a Cornsnake with Phoenix, shes more like a Viper x Rattlesnake (look out for my Ouch post).

All three have done it to me at some point, usually cos I've woken them or something. Its hard to tell ^^'''' They don't close their eyes like normal peoples!!! Boa and Ripley have both rattled a little, never any hissing along side it. Widget however has hissed, rattled and struck in one instance and boy did I back up quick. Bit me twice in that instance, but at least I am now aware fully that it hurts not a smidge, lol! I bothered him later on anyway, and he was fine XD I'm a persistent mother, and they've kind of just accepted it, all three of them!

Nerve racking your very first time isn't it. Hope you're more relaxed tomorrow and get to enjoy it more.
He's checking what you're typing and making sure he's still getting fed tomorrow!

lucyloop Posted - 04/11/2010 : 21:34:07
How exciting, I only fed Tiko for the 1st time last Friday but I was so nervous I didn't enjoy it. I am looking forward to paying a bit more attention tomorrow and relaxing a bit! He is out of his mood now and looking at me typing this!!
Mort13 Posted - 04/11/2010 : 21:22:15
Bet it surprised you then! He'll love his mummy tomorrow though
I finally get to get my hands on Falcor tomorrow for his first feed after settling in,can't wait!
lucyloop Posted - 04/11/2010 : 21:18:21
He just rattled it against the faun side so it sounded really loud. It worked though as I retreated with the water bowl!! Bad snake mommy, bet he won't rattle tomorrow though on Foodie Friday!!!
Mort13 Posted - 04/11/2010 : 21:06:12
Daft question probably, but do you just see them rattle it or does it actually make a sound?
herriotfan Posted - 04/11/2010 : 21:04:27
