I have just been looking on my local Gumtree ( I always keep my eyes open for bargains on there) and saw an ad "Corn Snake for sale" so I replied thinking maybe I can get my 3rd snake earlier than I'd hoped.

The reply I got was baffling to say the least... he said he had no heat mat for it and when I saw the pictures I noticed that the snake was in a very small tub like a tupperware box, certainly not suitable at all. I emailed him back and suggested I could take the snake and replace everything else like the heat mat and stat and tub to a more suitable one and haven't had anything back...

He's selling the snake because its too much work - yet he's only had it a week.... hmmmmm I think someone got bored! Poor snake!

i convinced my friend who said he would never step into my room to hold her which worked, also whenever people see my snake on my facebook eatting they say it will eat me...i really doubt a 2ft corn could do that xD

I had a similar experience at the hands of a gumtree fool, was charging £30 for a hatchling, I asked him for info on his shed/feed records, and the DoB and he changed the subject about him throwing in a tub, I asked him again and he strangely disappeared. Will defo stick to trusted breeders or my super shop for my snake requirements, was a early lesson to learn but an important one.

Stotty01 I had to bribe my friend to hold my snake he is coming to my house tomorrow so i told him unless you hold him you don't get to play FIFA 11 so far it's seems like it's going to work.

to much work? there the one of the easiest pets to keep, feed once a week change water and clean up poo....with dogs feed everyday, clean up poop everyday, change water everyday, walk everyday...thats why i convince my freinds that snakes are harmless and are a very easy and cheap to keep pet

I doubt I will for some reason, he is charging a ridiculous price for the whole "setup" if you want to call it that but I have told him all I want is the snake and will only pay him for the snake...I think he wants the full amount though and I just can't afford that and all the rest to pay for getting the snake sorted out and setup properly it wouldn't be fair on the snake

Then go for it.
It sounds like it needs a sensible home.
