Had the scare of my life this morning as I went to change Mr Slinky's water and check on him but he was gone. Now this has happened to me before but my partner found him hiding under his aspen , so before i went into a panic i checked everywhere but nope, he was gone. Next to his faun is the washing basket and a load of shirts were shoved in the washing machine this morning so my first thought was that i had washed him!!!! The washing had finished at this point so i went to unload the washer very quickly and hung the shirts to dry veeeeery slowly, scared i would find one very clean but dead snakey, luckily nothing. Anyway - long story short Mr Slinky was curled up in a very tight corner on a set of draws - phew!
Todays lesson: Please please don't take for granted that a snake can not fit through the tiniest of holes, I have been very lucky today! I very nearly learnt the very hard way.

i had to move snickers my baby amel back into a tub the other week he managed to escape from the viv we set up for him, no holes,no gap between glass as we taped it up.so after feeling quite chuffed we done a good job we left him to settle in.3 times that week we came down in a morning to find him sitting on top of viv with that "yeah u know i'm good" look on face.little rascal

I went to give Oscar his water this morning and he usually sticks his head out to make sure im not going to touch him as he is a lil bit anti-social! anyway he didnt so i checked through his tank and he was gone. So mission impossible began to find a tiny lil 12 week old baby corn who is the size of a noodle. We searched for about 3 hours until we got to the wardrobe, which we pulled away from the wall and i stood on the bed to move the teddys off the top and wh was snuggled up with one of them....lil oscar. Then we had to try to catch him....while he is striking and trying to eat us...but one noodle is back in his tank...for now (touch wood)

strips of LOW-TACK masking tape (NOT the cheap stuck that's actually pretty sticky) placed around the room
but you MUST check the tape frequently as snakie can get VERY stuck and stressed............and i suppose it could be potentially fatal but then so could being on the loose

it can be quite difficult to get the tape off but peel from head to tail to help prevent taking off scales, providing the snake's breathing isn't compromised by tape over it's mouth and nostrils i'd recommend doing the head last as snakie will be pretty pee'd off with the whole thing!
