So for almost a week Spot has been very antisocial, shying away (although not aggressive thank goodness) I have been leaving him alone as much as possible, he did feed on Sunday but he wasn't looking his usual beautiful self. It was my guess that he was due to shed and from information on this forum it appeared that I was right. Today he appeared from his hide for a drink and he is fully 'blue'. Out of curiosity and fasdcination after he had his drink I opened the door and he seemed quite calm so I held my hand in so he could have a smell, he remained calm so I did pick him up just so I could check him over, he remained calm and I only had him lifted for about a minute at the most.
Thanks to all those who have posted about their shedding experiences, it has really helped me so far to identify the signs and to not worry. |

Oh I'm not going to go crazy with the misting, just as normal every other day and keep the moss moist every day. |

Don't overdo the misting. You might be better with a slightly damp moss hide. Most snakes will shed without any aid at all.
If you really wanted to you could still handle him. It isn't a hard and fast 'don't touch' time. It's entirely up to you and how you feel your snake deals with it. Mine carry on as normal and shedding doesn't bother them at all. Try and see how he reacts, you can always put him away if you think he's getting stressed.. |

Looking forward to it, not just in the hope that I see him shed but also because I've not really had any handling time. Suppose patience is whats needed here, that and regular misting. |

Sounds like he's a very chilled snake who is not feeling at all threatened by you, even though he can't see you. That's really good. Now you just have to wait for his eyes to clear, his body to look normal again then, hey presto, in no time at all he will shed and be all fresh and shiney!! |
