Anyone local to Kent/South London, I highly advise making a trip to Beaver Water World.

http://www.beaverwaterworld.com/

As the name suggests, they've got beavers there but they have loads of rescue animals/reptiles and have turned it into a bit of a zoo.

They've got a few corns for sale in there and sell supplies there (some quite cheap actually).

The highlight for me had to be the 3 beautiful Burmese Pythons they had. Oh and the gorgeous Royal Python that they were handling when we got there . I'm gonna have to go back again just for these guys!

I'd be a bit nervous of it when it is crawling onto me but I think I'd be fine with it once it's on me. They are fascinating and I kinda want to get one at some point...although my girlfriend would probably move out if I did!

tbh it was quite intreguing.. as per the other spider post i hate spiders with a passion.. but it didnt freak me out like normal house spiders.. quite pretty in a way, it just stayed still and the handlers there so u know nothing can happen :)

That sounds awesome! I'll have to give them a call and see if they can do it for me one weekend! Not sure my girlfriend would even be in the same room as the chilean rose though! I'm not scared of spiders but even I'd be a bit nervous of it!

I just emailed them and asked :) we had to pay £60 (i think) but it all goes towards helping out with the place so i wasnt to bothered, money well spent i say :D i did say it was just for him but they let me hold the snakes to :) i did just ask for snakes but they where great and he got to hold lizards, monitors and a chile rose (eek)the monitor is so strong! and eats everything aparently haha! it was a great day u also get into see the reptiles free, its great for kids parties to :)

Great pictures! Am well jealous! Didn't know that they got any of the monitors out!

I'll have to see if they can do that for my girlfriends birthday! Although it'd prob be more of a present for me! Maybe I could attempt to be patient and do it next year for my birthday! Whats the deal with, do you need to pay? I think I'd give them some money regardless cos they do such a great job.

No beavers for us either, it was raining a little bit and they'd all hidden in their hut!
I just wish we could have seen the Burmese Pythons feed! That would have been amazing! I might give them a call and find out when they do feed them and hopefully make another trip! I have no problems paying to get in multiple times cos I know the money goes to a very good cause.

What do you mean, Miss Mystra, the giant millipede fell in love with you?

Hope it was 'arm less!!

XD he was head over 100's of heels!! it was awesome, no-one else would hold him so i let him walk onto my hand then he crawled up my arm and decided he wanted to stay, poor keeper needed to put him back for the day but he was quite happy where he was... they have a tighter grip than velcro! i thought my mum took a pic but she cant find it :(

LOL! Love it! Poor chap, I bet he was glad you came in handy!

Amazing experience - I'm jealous, love creepy-crawlies

wow, sounds ace!! somewhere else to drag my boyfriend to hehe

as much as i love going places like the big zoos etc the smaller places are so much better, more of an experience and any money goes to help the animals rather than fancy ad campaigns etc

back when i lived in Stoke used love going Stapley Water Gardens, been obsessively going to visit the gorgeous Suzy the snake since i was 4, and they have a great 'meet the keeper' day on a saturday... i think it was aimed at kids but i went a few months back and loved it!! the giant millipede fell in love with me!! XD
