Posted - 28/08/2010 : 00:41:13 right,
I started talking to my mum bout how much mischief our 7month old puppy called Millie was getting into in the past week ago. Then all of a sudden, my dad came in basically freaking out saying wheres Millie and that he couldn't find her anywhere and as soon as my dad said that shes ran off my heart just sank cuz we have only had her for about 3 or 4 months and she doesn't properly know her way around. :(
So all my family were walking/driving around all my village trying to find her and asking people if they had seen a Westie x Cairn Terrier knocking about anywhere. Then all of a sudden i get a phone call saying that this guy had found her and taken her to gnosall kennels which is shocking considering that i live like an hour away from there! So me and mum got in her car and started to make our way up to gnosall and bout half an hour later i got another phone call saying that the guy hasn't taken her to gnosall kennels and so he gave us the mans number to ring him up to get Millz back. my mum rang the man up who had her to explain that Millie was ours and that, but then the idiot started going completely ****y with my mum and basically having ago at my mum for not putting an identity tag on puppy when we were actually going to get her one in a couple of days anyway. when we found out the details of who this man was, i remembered that it was my mates mums friend, who i saw before kicking his dog and yanking the lead back and must have yanked it quite hard seen as his dog went about 2 or 3 foot in the air?! :O?!! now if thats not animal abuse then i dont know what is!
anyway, when he finally came round to give us the pup back, its like he wouldn't even let go of her and when he did it looked like he was bout to cry lol quite strange though if you ask me :/ as soon as he went and we put lil Millie on the floor, she started to limp and she couldn't put any bit of weight on her left hind leg at all without lying down straight afterwards :'( the first thing i thought is what if hes kicked her for biting her seen as she is a nibbler :/ it definitely isnt broken but think it is badly bruised :( my poor baby girl!! xx |

Posted - 31/08/2010 : 19:13:26 My Charlie is a bleeder for getting nasty if he doesnt get his own way. Thing is although little dogs dont usually have a strong jaw they normally have sharp little teggies. :P Tiffany-x |

aaand nope, Graysons always been a whimp - even when he was a puppy he'd rather lick and/or sit on your shoulder than nibble |

Posted - 30/08/2010 : 19:14:38 Just keep an eye on her and if it gets worse you should consider getting it checked out, if that was my charlie I think I would be completely spoiling him rotten right now with cuddles and treats and stuff. :P But Im sure she will be fine soon she will just need some loving and care. I really cant believe how cute she is, Im a real dog person. My little fluffy boy is a brat cause I give him what he wants but its hard to resist when they are so cute isnt it! :P Tiffany-x |

Posted - 29/08/2010 : 23:44:27 Our Cat Piper disappeared when he was about 2 years old for 3-4 months and then one day a neighbour came and said she could see him on the back fence so out we went with some cat biscuits and he was a bit wary and then he just legged it in. He's about 4 and a half now and still disappears for a few nights in mating season but I remember how worried I was about him when he was gone, every time I walked anywhere I was keeping an eye out for him. |

Posted - 29/08/2010 : 22:31:50 haha nahh doesn't look like your lecturing on at all but just saying how it is lol well we have tried a few times to stop her biting and she has slowed down quite alot though from when we had her :) xx
and yeah scarlett he was a proper weird guy :¦ and i didnt realise this until this morning but for some reason Millies collar was on proper tight when beforehand it was on so you could fit about 2 fingers between the collar and her neck :/ just keep wondering/worrying what the hell he has actually done to her :/ especially when he wouldn't let go of her :/ xx |

Posted - 29/08/2010 : 16:37:55 Another way to get the pup to stop nibbling when you don't want her to is to make a high pitched squeak and she should drop it, probably looking a bit confused lol. It's the sound puppies make when another one hurts them during play time, and it's just built in to them. Nipping is okay if it's play time, and you know it's controlled, but it's better to just get them to stop it in case they nip the wrong person, or a child. It's safer to just get rid of the risk altogether =]
I'm glad you found her though, that guy sounds dodgy =/ |

Posted - 29/08/2010 : 14:01:06 give her a toy to chew so that she learns not to chew people but toys instead.. i know shes only little but ive seen chihauhaus do plenty of damage to peoples hands and legs - all because their owners decided that "she's only small so she cant do any damage..." it doesnt make any difference how big she is..she has teeth that if used how they are supposed to be could hurt someone.. im really not trying to lecture you and I am sorry if it comes across that way but bad habits like nibbling/biting do need to be stopped earlier rather than later promise thats me over!! |

Posted - 29/08/2010 : 11:08:56 sorry figs ive just seen your post lol =] and i'll put a pic up soon of her for you :) but shes gone really light since we had her lol what colours your dog? :) xx
and yeah she is a nibbling type because i looked up bout it and apparently quite a few breeds of terrier bite but not in a nasty way though. All Millie likes is chewing on peoples fingers but if its someone who she hasn't seen before, she jumps up and starts to lick them to death even though when she jumps up she only gets to about peoples hips bless her :) xx |

Posted - 28/08/2010 : 16:26:47 glad you got her back ok.. you say shes a nipper? I'm going to sound like the lecturing one now but you really do need to train her not to bite/nip people - i know shes a pup and only playing but if she bit a child and her parents werent very forgiving then she could be reported as a dangerous dog and then you wouldnt have any option but to have her pts.. i know its harsh and that but it could happen one day.. hope you get her a nice pretty tag that doesnt have her name on it - just your number and postcode.. that way if she goes missing and someone tries to claim her as theirs they wont necessarily know her name
edited for crappy spelling! |
