Posted - 25/08/2010 : 17:35:40 Ok, so not a snakey result, but a result none the less! Yesterday i got a call from our local Bike dealer, telling me that another local company, PowerBronze needed an R125 so they could test some aftermarket parts. I ring them, and they come pick the bike up the same day, in return i was to receive the rear hugger that they developed, which i was happy with. The bike wasnt being used so it make no odds really, anyway, it came back today, and heres some pics!! Will do some better ones when the weather is dry and i can get it out!

Depends if you know what you are looking for, a 125 stroke scooter that's been big bored is gonna be obvious, on the road, a 4 stroke is gonna be so expensive you won't do it anyway, valves, hi lift cams, stroker kit, full exhaust, bigger carb or injectors, gonna set you back about 3k to have all that done properly. Doing a 2 stroke, anyone who knows 2 strokes will know if its been done, they sound different, plus on top of that, you gotta change the carb, reed valves, either power valve and setup, full rebore kit, exhaust, its expensive.
Not only that, you go past a copper on a 50 at 60mph then he's gonna know straight away, go past on a125 at 90, then he's gonna know. If the bike accelerates too quick for what it is then he's gonna know. |

Posted - 26/08/2010 : 16:35:34 125's aren't generally restricted, the power they have is the power they gonna have, the only way to improve a 4 strokes power is so expensive its not worth it, and 2 strokes are restricted, but again, to get any decent power gains you gotta put a stroker kit on it, in which case its very expensive. The only bike you will get that's easily de restricted is the rs125. Derestricting leaner bikes is not worth it, you will lose you license. |

Posted - 25/08/2010 : 23:12:45 to be honest, yes, they are, for what they are they are a cracking bike. They are never gonna be fast, never gonna be quick, but they do look very cool. A lot of companies dont do many parts for them because they are more of a stepping stone that a permanent bike, but now, because they are so popular, more places are doing more bits for them, hence PowerBronze borrowing for the day. |

They are kinda, compared to big bikes, the white one cost us 2700 i think, and the black one was brand new at 4k, but you can pick up some big bikes for not a lot more! As far as learner bikes, this one is about the best looking one, not the fastest, but looks nice on the road! I used to have an aprilia RS125, that was good for about 95, nearly a ton, and quite quick too! this one is good for about 80-85, and not majorly quick! |

You just cant beat the feeling you get from a bike on a dry sunday morning when theres hardly any cars on the road and you've just filled up the tank (£12).....total and utter FREEDOM!!! |

Posted - 25/08/2010 : 21:10:34 I used to have a Laverda 650F a long while back, but poor little me was ever so light for it. Then the kids came along and 'big bikes' are now on my banned list so I've only got my 2 little monkey bikes now, a 2005 Honda Gorilla and a 1976 Honda CF70f. However, doing up to about 45mph on the back wheel from traffic lights makes it a bit more fun. (that was obviously done on a closed private road, as it's illegal otherwise *cough*) |
