Posted - 14/08/2010 : 16:52:05 Beetlejuice seems to have taken a fancy to one of his hides . I had it in the cool end and that's where he went all the time, then switched it to the hot end and he has moved down there now!!!!! I'am getting slightly worried that he isn't regulating correctly !! Any help would be much appreciated. |

Posted - 14/08/2010 : 20:28:30 I wouldn't worry about it at all to be honest. If the heat source is correctly stat'd then he wont overheat and when/if he wants to chill for a bit he will move. He may well do it anyway, but you just don't see him, when you're asleep for example. |

Posted - 14/08/2010 : 17:15:19 Oh dear - awkward little git!
My new little royal is just the same - his favourite hide is a kitchen roll tube, so I place it with half of it sitting on the heatpad, half off, so he can move up and down it according to choice.
I have noticed temperatures going down a few degrees in the past couple of days though -I live in Yorks and the weather's been colder - so, depending on where you live, perhaps Beetlejuice would have moved towards the warmer end anyway?
I think they've got a lot of sense - they will thermoregulate and keep healthy.
If you're really worried, you could always put another hide in there, identical to his favourite ...
I think they do it just to be annoying! |
