I didnt know about it but my daughter is camping at a convention on the Bath & West Showground (12000 teenagers!) and saw loads of them, big and little ones falling beautifully. She said they all dragged their beds out of their tents and just lay there quietly watching them....and the whole site was virtually silent for ages. A breathtaking phenomena.

Wish I had seen it....

I sat outside until about 1am, I think, the sky was pretty clear. I saw something like a tiny point of light moving across the sky near Cassiopeia (north north east) but it could have been an aircraft. Either that or the falling-down water!

I got up again at 2.30 but it was cloudy.

Been good fun though! Thanks, Luke.

10.15 ... skies are still cloudy ...

I suppose it'll protect us from evil Triffid designs ...

Drat it, run out of falling-down water (lights pipe ...)

Drop down juice is great, I may well forego the beach and just sit in the garden with some. I see no censoring of a word on the beardie thread... *innocent*

AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH! I already have triffids at the bottom of my garden!

(I got them from Wilkinsons - beware!!)

They stand there ready to pounce on me, clicking their little signals, full of malign intent. They LOOK like dahlias, but I know they're not ...

I respect my triffids.
kdlang Posted - 12/08/2010 : 17:56:10
i might have to have a look if the clouds bugger off. It's not looking promising at the moment. No doubt I will be out with the pup about that time anyway

all over it will be seen, the skies are supposed to clear later on and it will still be happening tomorrow evening too just not as much. its best to get out of your town area and go somewhere dark.

apparently the meteors are coming into our atmosphere at 100,000 mph and you will see 60-100 per hour.
