Agreed, I've met quite a few! Loose? the ones I've met have lost theirs!

Agreed. Plus you may end up drafted!

The ones I met have 2 mindsets. you're safe (=I won't shoot you), you're not safe (= you're screwed!)

Yup!
My eldest sister was married to a special forces police...I would say man, but battering ram would be a better description. He was first through the door on huge drug busts etc (usually with lots of guns) and he never spoke, rarely smiled, and always looked at everything like he was assessing it for potential danger. Their wedding was amusing though, as he and all his mates (more of the battering ram types) lined up on each side of the door to welcome people in, it was rather daunting!!

The Army Paras are nutters, basically, they have several screws loose!! They do what it says on the tin, they drop into hot zones and do lots of shooting and blowing stuff up, thats their thing.

I highly recommend not challenging a Para to drinking games, you wont win, and it will hurt!!!!

Out of all of them, the paras are scary, just because they dont seem to care!

Realistically, the Special Forces guys are the scariest, because they are so calm about everything!

The RAF regiment do do paratrooper training, but they are not paras like the paras are, the RAF regiment are predominantly ground based, they are specialists in close quarters combat, securing and maintaining security on ground based assets.

Incidentally, i have worked alongside Paras, RAF Regiment, SAS and Delta force.

One particular SAS guy i chatted to in Iraq was wearing jeans, t-shirt and trainers, on top of that, he had a full battle rig, grenades, extra rounds, and a gun strapped to any spare places possible, both legs, shoulder rig, smg over the shoulder and a shotgun over the shoulder!!
He was a also a top bloke, really nice guy!

The Parachute Regiment: http://www.army.mod.uk/infantry/regiments/3471.aspx

part of the Army - you lose! :D
lee2308 Posted - 08/08/2010 : 22:44:23
i think you will find that paratroopers are not exclusive to the raf and are part of many armed forces from many countries,a paratrooper is just a soldier that has been train to take part in combat through arriving by parachute.

R.A.F, go into the Para's you can get into the S.A.S if you survive selection, S.A.S standing for "Special Air Services"
