My latest foster dog Genesis left me yesterday to begin her training to become an assistance dog. Missing her already even though I have lots to do before my next one comes in about a month. Thought I would share some photos of her with you.

I think what you do is amazing....and speaking as someone who has health problems and relies on the company of my dog (although she isnt a trained assistance dog and at the moment is being a pain in the neck ) I know how important these dogs are and the work you do with them is.

I really dont think I could do what you and Herriotfan do, even though I know it is for a good cause. I would get too attached and not want them to move on.....

Genesis really is stunning (did you name her?). I love the pic of her sleeping and the one with the 2 of you. Whoever lands up getting her will be blessed to have her as their assistance dog and she will, in turn, be a blessing to them.

She is an absolute sweetheart. When she came to me she had been chosen from a rescue centre. The first foster carer that had her couldn't manage her but she soon settled into this madhouse. She had an illegally docked tail, a bad case of kennel cough, was underweight, and had ear mites but the most stunning shiny coat I have ever seen. Despite having had little socialisation she has come on in huge leaps and I have faith she will do well in training as she is so loyal and eager to please.

The plan for the next dog is a Duck Tolling Retriever puppy that is being donated by a breeder. The plan could change as the supply team have to look at the litter first and see if one is suitable. I will keep you all posted and have photos up as soon as he/she gets here.

She's lovely. I know what you mean about missing them, I miss each and every one of my foster dogs when they go to new homes.
