I've been to Leeroys Lizarrd Lounge and he's got some puff adders in!
They are little baby things and i'm torn between thinking they are cute or scary - they have such scowly faces!
Would (or do) any of you cornies ever keep a venomous snake?
i dont think you could really handle them safely like you could corns and little pythons
or are puff adders not *that* venomous?
(you need a DWA license but still) |

You are probably right, I don't fancy it much either.
Little trivia for you, the baboon viper holds the record for the longest fangs, an adult was found with 2.5 inch fangs! |

but im waaaaaaay to inexperienced for that me thinks, plus i couldnt actually imagine maself having one n the type that i want should really be kept in the wild n only in the wild me thinks cos they are wild animals, must be great to watch thou but i ahve corns 4 that and hopefully a king snakie laters.
although i do defo like mike's fwc thou ;) |

All DWA snakes are to be kept in a locked viv inside another locked enclosure, be that the room or another viv. |

If someone is fit and healthy as opposed to an obeise diabetic they have a greater chance of their bodies reacting quicker and stronger than an obeise diabetic, therefore the chances of necrosis respiratory/organ failure and even death is far greater reduced over a period of time whilst seeking medical attention. |

Well if someone has high blood pressure I can guess it may affect them quicker/worse off than someone with a lower level, and I guess cholestrol levels have an effect too..? |

I never would keep venomous, I'm not a very ethical person but I beleive if you have a pet to be a pet you should be able to interact somehow with it.. and I do think it's slightly cruel to have a hot just to look at it really when it could be out free in the desert.
I WOULD however go into the massive pythons, but a) I feel i'm too young and experienced for them b) I do not have the space c) I do not have anyone who'd want them in the house and have anyone who could help me handle it.
I would get one, IF I had all of the above, and if it was tame.. |

ooft no chance !!! Cytotoxic venom !!!! Depending on the bite being either deep or shallow and whatever part of the body your bitten, it's gonna be a world of pain for a long time !!!!
Muscle and skin necrosis is not a nice thing,poss the loss of a digit or even a limb. All depends on how fit and if your organs are in good shape if your bitten !

my local shop has them and a vogals pit viper, gorgeous things, and cheap, adder-25 and viper-60 but then you have the expensive dwa license. i would never keep a venomous animal as i would always want to handle it but never could.

Puff adders are very very dangerous, they have big heads and big fangs, and tend to be quite grumpy. If one was to bite you, you have a fairly short time before massive tissue damage happens, to the point you lose whatever it bit.
Vipers are seriously quick, and they don't miss.
Corns are the the push bike compared to the supercar ofvipers.
Go on youtube and watch some videos! They are beautiful though.
